Rose Ann Cruz, RN, Telemetry Unit, received the prestigious DAISY Award Jan. 19, recognizing her deep caring and compassion for the patients she serves.
Cruz joined East LA Doctors Hospital in August 2024.
One of her patients shared that when family members felt anxious and were pressing for medication, Cruz patiently de-escalated the situation by offering clear information about the plan of care and focusing on a safe recovery. The patient said Cruz was consistently attentive to supplies and medications, anticipating needs before they were voiced.
The patient said, “I’m very demanding, but she handles every day with care and attentiveness. She calmed my family, gave them information, and reassured them about my recovery.”
Through empathy, and meticulous follow-through, Rose turned a stressful moment into trust and confidence. She emphasizes the DAISY spirit—clinical excellence paired with genuine kindness.
