Daisy Maldonado has received the recipient Exemplary Employee Award for October. The award recognizes employee commitment to patients, family and co-workers through acts of caring, compassion and excellent customer service.
Maldonado joined our hospital in this past May. She is a CNAworking on our Telemetry Unit and was nominated by two co-workers. One of them had this to say:
“As a Patient Relations Coordinator, I heard this name brought up to me by patients and their families during rounding. They all expressed how grateful they feel for Daisy Maldonado’s help and how attentive she is to patient care.”
Another co-worker said the following:
“Daisy is someone who has shown real strength and growth here at ELA. When she first joined us, she was still finding her footing, but over time she’s really stepped into her role. You can see it in the way she carries herself, how she talks with patients and families, and the confidence she brings to her day.
“These past few weeks haven’t been easy for her, yet she’s continued to show up with the same steady attitude and work ethic we’ve come to appreciate. She stays focused, avoids the drama, and handles her responsibilities with calm and care. She doesn’t complain — she just quietly does her job and does it well. Patients respond to her kindness, families appreciate her communication, and the team notices her consistency. Daisy has become one of those people who makes the unit better simply by being who she is. Her growth, her resilience, and the heart she brings to her work have made a real difference.
