East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital is celebrating a successful three-day Joint Commission Laboratory/Cardiopulmonary survey resulting in success.
The accreditation will be in place for the next two years.
Held Aug. 10-12, the survey yielded results that hospital CEO Hector Hernandez called “outstanding.”
“We concluded the survey with only five findings: four Low/Limited and one Moderate/Limited. Most importantly, we had no High-risk findings and no findings identified as Pattern or Widespread,” he said.
Hernandez said he had opportunity to see firsthand the responsiveness and dedication demonstrated by hospital staff.
“This reflects the tremendous work taking place every day throughout our organization,” he said. “While Laboratory and Respiratory Therapy were at the center of this survey, successful accreditation is never the work of one department. It requires leadership, nursing, medical staff, quality, infection prevention, facilities, support services, IT, and many others working together and maintaining a culture of readiness.”
