Mary Del Valle is the recipient of our Exemplary Employee Award for January. The award recognizes employee commitment to patients, family and co-workers through acts of caring, compassion and excellent customer service.
Del Valle joined our hospital in June 2016 and serves as our Director of Clinical Education. She was nominated by a co-worker who had this to say:
“Mary has shown professionalism and consistency in all aspects of her job. She reports to the hospital early, and I have seen her many times until late hours of the day. She has taken on many responsibilities and projects for the hospital, from the DAISY Awards, Cal Bridge Navigation Program, the hospital’s policy and procedure development and ensuring that we work with reputable nursing schools to recruit new nurses for the hospital.
As a nurse educator, Mary works faithfully to ensure that the nursing workforce is competent compassionate and ready to meet healthcare challenges. She is a go-to person for many, especially for the new nursing grads who represent the future as nursing.
Her dedication to her profession is paramount, and I would like to see her recognized for her clinical knowledge and instructional skills, as well for as her many other accomplishments. Many may not know that she holds a PhD.
We greatly appreciate Del Valle’s dedication to the patients we serve!
