Victor Valladares, RN, was recognized this month with the prestigious DAISY Award, which recognize a nurse’s deep caring and compassion for the patients he serves.
Valladares joined East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital only five months ago as a “new grad” nurse. He works on the Telemetry unit.
The patient who nominated Valladares wrote: “Victor made me feel strong. He gave me hope. I was crying, thinking I was going to die, and I told him it was because I was bleeding and did not know why. He was compassionate. He said he was going to find out why and then he came back and said I was going to get a transfusion, and I was going to feel better.”
