Bertha Acosta, RN, is East Los Angeles Doctors’ Hospital’s latest recipient of the Daisy Award. The award honors outstanding nurses at hospitals across the nation. Acosta has worked in the hospital’s medical/surgical unit since May 2016.
Acosta was nominated for the award by a patient who called her “extraordinary.” The patient said the nurse provided comfort during a scary time.
“With her words and care, Bertha made me feel confident and not afraid,” the patient wrote. “Everything felt comfortable with her. I want to thank her.”
