Pipeline Health’s hospitals enjoy the longevity of numerous staff members who have served their communities for decades. That longevity demonstrates their deep dedication.

At the same time, Pipeline’s hospitals value the newer recruits who have been on board just a few years. Among those are new graduates – including Alicia Alonso, RN — who recently marked her one year anniversary at East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital.

Noemi Gomez, RN, nursing director in perinatal services, says Alonso is a valued employee working in post-partum/couplet care.

“As a new graduate, I really wanted to work in the OB department after graduating from nursing school,” Alonso said. “I had the opportunity to do that at East Los Angeles, and I’m really thankful.”

Alonso says she enjoys working with the mostly Latino population served by East LA, and she enjoys giving back to her community.

“It feels really good to be able to provide care for all my patients and their families during this exciting time of welcoming a new baby,” she said. “I also have learned a lot during my first year here, and I am looking forward to continuing learning, growing and developing my skills as a nurse.”
